Trade terms and commission: what EventPlan does and doesn't do
2 min readUpdated 20 October 2026
Read each business’s own trade terms and agree any commission directly with that business.
Understand and confirm the terms
- 1. Sign in with your verified agency account.
- 2. Open Trade directory.
- 3. Find the business you are considering.
- 4. Open its listing and read the available Trade terms.
- 5. Check the terms for the relevant service, such as room hire, day delegate rates, accommodation or activities.
- 6. Contact the business’s agency contact if one is supplied.
- 7. Ask the business to confirm what is commissionable and how any agreement will work.
- 8. Record an Expected commission (private note) in Agency enquiries only if useful for your own tracking.

Tip: Ask about exclusions, payment timing and the basis used to calculate commission. Do not assume a percentage for one service also applies to another, or that all businesses offer the same terms.
Good to know: Businesses choose whether to work with agencies and supply their own terms. Protected terms are not a public rate card. A blank value is not an agreed zero commission, and a private expected-commission note does not create an agreement or record a payment.
Good to know: EventPlan Wales shows each business’s own terms and never takes, collects or processes commission. It does not combine business prices or collect event payments. Each business quotes separately, and your agency agrees any booking or commission directly with that business. Agency access is free.
